Velhotes
The top-selling Port wine label in Portugal was created in 1934. Nowadays selling more than 3 million bottles per year, the name Velhotes has its origin in a long business trip to the Netherlands by a Cálem delegate. There he found and brought with him a painting of three old men (Velhotes, in Portuguese) gathered at a table, a chemist, a lawyer and a judge, which he saw as friends who got together everyday to share their stories over a glass of Port.
Launched as Cálem's label, over the years it grew its own personality and self-expression, conquering consumers both in Portugal and abroad, gaining a voice of its own, while still part of the Cálem family.
An iconic label in Portugal, Velhotes is fun and relaxed, a simple way of enjoying Port regardless of your age...
